For the New Year...

Some Thoughts About Friendship

Many people will walk in and out of your life,
But only true friends will leave footprints in your heart.

To handle yourself, use your head,
To handle others, use your heart.

Anger is only one letter short of danger.

If someone betrays you once, it is his fault;
If he betrays you twice, it is your fault.

Great minds discuss ideas;
Average minds discuss events;
Small minds discuss people.

He, who loses money, loses much;
He, who loses a friend, loses much more;

Beautiful young people are accidents of nature,
But beautiful old people are works of art.

Learn from the mistakes of others.
You can't live long enough to make them all yourself.

Happy New Year JD. I never knew that mere knowledge of kind people existing and their thoughts could be so much happiness in life.

I like your poem. To go deeper - My thoughts on friendship: True friendship is more than being friends. It is being always there for one another. A true friend will gently admonish you when you have "wronged", will not leave you, but forgive you and help you through that "wrong". A true friend would not walk away when wires get crossed, but would run, with all their heart, to mend those wires. A true friend loves you in spite of your faults and inadequacies, and lifts you up to be more than you are. See 3:12-17 Col.
